Chickasaw is a city in Mobile County, Alabama and is included in the Mobile metropolitan statistical area.
The present site of Chickasaw was, in the early 20th century before the city now standing was incorporated, a company town, wholly owned by companies such as the Gulf Shipbuilding Corporation.
As a “bedroom city”, Chickasaw now is a nice town whose streets are well-lit and maintained. Lot's of enjoyable recreation for almost everyone is available and the City has long been respected throughout the State for its harmonious and stable community and government. It has been managed like a well-run business and its unique history and endearing qualities make it, as the City Government says, a great place to live.
